Harold Pinter Memorial Day

On Sunday (27/9) celebrities from the worlds of sport and entertainment gathered at Lord’s to take part in a unique tribute to legendary playwright Harold Pinter.

The day (and evening) was hosted by The Lord’s Taverners with The Taverners’ celebrity cricket team playing Gaieties, Pinter’s cricket club of over 40 years, on the Lord’s nursery ground.

The Taverners' XI, captained by former England Captain (and our good friend the number one JMB) Mike Brearley, featured a variety of players from Mike Atherton, Mike Gatting and Lord’s Taverners President Chris Tarrant.

Keith was to play in this match but had to cancel due to injury (which we have now had diagnosed as Aseptic Necrosis of the hip due to the medication he took during his bone cancer treatment). Devastating for Keith as his cricketing days are on hold for awhile but so pleased it isn't the cancer returning.

That evening we all made our way to the Long Room at Lord's as actors including Michael Billington, Sir Peter Hall, Jeremy Irons (that voice!), Bill Nighy (who is in person exactly how he appears on screen), Roger Lloyd Pack (loved him as Owen Newitt in the Vicar of Dibley), Sam West and Timothy West (with Prunella Scales sitting just behind me) formed a star-studded cast for the Harold Pinter Tribute Evening in the presence of his widow Lady Antonia Fraser.

An amazing evening to celebrate the life of an amazing man.

Sounds like it was a wonderful celebration. I've included a link to this post from here, hope that's ok.
